Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of Functional Behavioural Assessment (FBA) and Behavioural Intervention Plan (BIP) in decreasing tantrum/challenging (screaming & sitting on the floor) behaviour and also improved positive behaviour in a student with visual impairment who had autism tendency. A brief overview of FBA and BIP is provided in this study. In addition, some characteristics of children with visual impairment with autism tendency are described. The assessment steps and the intervention are thoroughly discussed. Results showed decreased challenging behaviour across all settings. Implication for practice and research are debated.
